Eden Outreach and Support Services

Who is Eden Outreach - Established in 1986 to provide services to individuals with autism and their families outside the Eden Family of Services. Since that time the Outreach Department has grown to provide an array of highly individuated services to "best practices" for the treatment of autism spectrum disorders ground with the principles of applied behavior analysis.
Our dedicated staff also oversees the ongoing development of curricula and training resources offered to the public.
Services
Speech and Language Evaluations
A master’s level speech-language pathologist evaluates an individual’s speech, language and communicative competence, through both formal and informal assessment tools. Both diagnosis and recommendations for remediation are presented in a formal report.
Learning Evaluation
A certified Learning Disabilities Teacher and Consultant (LDT/C) assesses the individual’s current level of performance and learning style using both formal and informal measures.The resulting evaluation identifies the individual’s educational needs and recommends appropriate teaching strategies.
Diagnostic Evaluations Conducted by master’s level Eden staff, Eden’s diagnostic evaluations consist of an in-depth parent interview, behavioral observations, and assessment on standardized
measures. In addition to an opinion as to diagnosis, these evaluations contain detailed educational behavioral and home recommendations, supported by programs from Eden’s curriculum.
Comprehensive Skill Assessment
Conducted by a multidisciplinary team of professionals with extensive experience in the field of autism, this assessment details the individuals level of functioning in all domains. Both standardized and informal measures are used to create an in-dept treatment plan.
Consultations
With the goal of providing guidance on "best practices" for autism service delivery,Eden Outreach Serves in a consulting capacity to public and private schools, state and private agencies and individual families. Eden's approach is to foster ownership and stability within the unique environment of the consult location, assisting each program or family in determining its own objectives and developing strategies to achieve them. Consultations have been provide thought-out the continental United States, an well as internationally.
Training Workshops
Training is offered for professionals, paraprofessionals and parents interested in learning about autism and Applied Behavior Analysis. Workshops encompass a wide range of topics and techniques for designing, implementing and assessing remedial programs for individuals with autism are led be Eden faculty who have significant experience with the material presented.
Eden Autism Curriculum
The Eden curriculum is a comprehensive series of teaching programs designed to provide a valuable resource to enable professionals and parents to effectively teach students with autism. The newly revised Eden Institute Family of Services Curriculum Series reflects the collective experience of Eden faculty during the past 30 years of providing comprehensive, individualized services to children and adults with autism.
Employing a hands-on approach, the revised curriculum includes practical strategies for each teaching program. In addition, each skill area includes a systematic assessment and flow chart to support appropriate goal selection. Teaching programs are clearly written, with step-by-step instructions, and include target behaviors, prerequisite skills, criterion, measurement, materials, procedures, and prompting techniques.
These programs have been field tested with hundreds of students and adults with autism. Teaching programs are ground in the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and address essential skill areas such as cognitive, self care and domestics, speech and language, vocational, physical education, recreation and leisure, employment and residential living.
